Celebrating National Burger Month at the Home of Cricket – Lord’s Tavern Pub

July 28, 2019 by manjirichitnis Leave a Comment

From Wickets to Wagyu at the Home of Cricket

National Burger Month in May is a big deal and when the famous Lord’s Tavern announces a cricket themed menu to celebrate and invites me, I wasn’t going to refuse. Add to that an invitation to tour Lords Stadium in London, a come in a life time opportunity, absolutely impossible to refuse.

After a fabulous tour of the Lord’s cricket ground, we were welcomed into Lord’s Tavern pub to celebrate their special cirket themed-menu with five yummy burgers each celebrating five different nations famous for this sport. On offer are options with a nod to New Zealand, Australia,West Indies and the classic British beef burger.

What better way to welcome a the summer and celebrate one of the world’s most loved pub foods – the burger and to ring in the promising season of international cricket, than with a burger and drinks at this iconic stadium?

This special menu has been curated by Head Chef Mervy Hettiarachige Don and celebrates global flavours with flavour combinations like the Aussie-style beef patties with beetroot, Caribbean Jerk Chicken burger served with mango salsa and more.

You can pair your juicy burger with a matching beer from each region too.

It was a wonderful evening spent celebrating good food and talking cricket with the other guests. I especially enjoyed chatting with the lovely ladies from the New Zealand Business Women’s Network.

Whether you are a cricket buff or not, the Lord’s Tavern offers good-quality pub grub and a wide selection of drinks, right next door to one of the Home of Cricket. You can enjoy live sport and a chilled pint served by friendly staff in a venue filled with memorablia from past matches.

Location: Grace Gates, Lord’s Stadium, St.Johns Wood

Nearest Tube: Finchley Road

To enjoy a virtual tour of the iconic Lord’s cricket grounds why not have a browse through my next blog post:

*With thanks to the PR Agency, Lor’s Stadium Press Office and Lord’s Tavern pub for the invite, No monetary compensation was offered for a positive review.  As always all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
